Hello Chemistry Club Members,

Here are the minutes from the officer meeting that took place on Tuesday January 15.

The spring semester is almost underway. Here is some important information you will need to know for Chemistry Club this semester. Our meetings will be held on Thursdays at 1pm, most likely on the third floor of Stoffer. Our first meeting will be next Thursday, January 24. In addition to having our first meeting next week there is also a couple of other events going on.

First, on Tuesday the 22 anyone who ordered a Chemistry Club t-shirt and/or sweatshirt can come by the Seminar Room (Stoffer third floor) from 10:30-11:15 am to pick it up. Renae and Elizabeth will be there handing them out. You will have to sign for your shirt when you pick it up. If you forgot to order one, we do have a few extras. The next important event next week will be Wednesday from 7-9 pm in the Washburn Room of Memorial Union. The event is a Community Energy Forum that is hosted by the Climate and Energy Project. Its purpose is to educate the community on energy efficiency and renewable energy. There will also be the opportunity to ask questions. This topic is going to be discussed at the legislative level at the state house next Friday so this is a chance for the public to gain knowledge about what the state can do to protect the environment. There are attachments that will give more information about this forum. The Chemistry Club is co hosting this event and will have a table set up. It is important for us to be well represented at this event so I encourage all of you to come out in your Chem Club attire (i.e. your new shirt that you will be picking up on Tuesday). The forum is likely to be an interesting and exciting event. Future events for the rest of the semester will be discussed at our first meeting, but you can for sure anticipate some fascinating speakers, even one of our very own faculty, and our annual Bowling Event that will most likely take place at the end of April.
