  • Intelligent Design arguments
    • Intelligent Design advocate William Dembski will be presenting at WU on Oct. 7
    • Sponsored by  Christian Challenge
    • We may want to bring in another speaker to provide a counter-argument
      • Top choice:  Philosopher of biology Michael Ruse from Florida State U
      • Deadline:  October 2010
      • Other ideas for speakers—contact Dr. Brian Thomas
  • Kansas Academy of Science
    • April 9 and 10
      • We would leave Friday afternoon
    • We have received $1400 in funding
    • If you are interested in presenting at KAS, please contact Dr. Schmidt
  • Goggle Sale
    • Two types:  $10 and $15
    • Please contact one of the officers if you are interested in purchasing a pair
  • T-Shirts
    • $10 for short-sleeve, $15 for long-sleeve
    • Navy blue or gray
    • We are temporarily out of size Small, but are re-ordering more
    • Scott Bush will send an email when the second order is in
      • There will be limited quantities of size Small and long-sleeved shirts—first come, first served
  • Social Event
    • Royals baseball game!

  • ACS Regional Meetings
    • We are considering collaborating with the Wichita chapter in October
  • K-INBRE
    • There is still money available for K-INBRE students for this semester
    • Contact Dr. Barton for more information regarding the K-INBRE program and scholarships
  • Undergraduate Chemistry Research
    • We discussed the general process involved in choosing an area for research
      • Interviews with each chemistry professor about their research
      • Collect signatures following interview
      • Decide which area/project interests you most
      • Talk to professors about K-INBRE funding
      • Remember to give professors plenty of notice!
  • Dues
    • $11 for the semester
    • Please pay if you have not already!
